Upgrade Your German

Julia Kheifets (parent)

“My daughter has been learning with Sanja for about 8 months. We started when my daughter was nine and we’ve just moved to Germany. She could do basic communication, but German lessons in school were difficult for her. Sanja quickly built a trust-worthy communication with my daughter. The lessons were very interactive: there were games and songs, my daughter got very engaged and learning German was interesting for her. There was great progress at school: the school teacher complimented our daughter’s progress; we saw ourselves that her written German papers became more diverse and got more depth. This what our daughter said herself: “Mir haben die Stunden viel Spaß gemacht. Es gab viele Spiele und ich habe neue Wörter bemerkt. Die Themen, die ich nicht verstand, hat Sanja mir immer erklärt.” We are very happy with Sanja’s lessons and definitely can recommend her.”

“Sanja was my German teacher and she really helped me a lot! I was able to remember a lot of things that we have learned due to little grammatical songs and rhymes that she showed me. Now  whenever I have problems with German, I play these songs briefly in my head and then I remember what goes with the Dative and what goes with the Accusative case😀. She also taught me how to pick the right articles, cases, and much more , and this knowledge still accompanies me to this day. Her lessons were creative, helpful and we often played little games so they were fun as well.

I also recall our “Meme-door”, where we collected pictures of funny German jokes and posted them on the entrance of our class room.

My parents, my sister and I all agree that she is a nice, humorous, helpful, patient, creative and smart teacher and of course I recommend her fullheartedly as a German teacher😁, because all students really liked her and without her – “we wouldn’t be standing here now”. “

“Personally, I had a wonderful experience with my teacher Sanja. The approach of her teaching motivated me to work hard every day and get better in German. Patience, understanding and various creative teaching ideas are just some of the virtues that adorn her. Every lesson with her has always been very helpful. I think that my knowledge of German would never have been so good if it were not for Sanja. She always tried to make her lessons as interesting and interactive as possible. Sanja is the person who, when you are least motivated to learn, will get the best out of you.
I also remember our first class where she told me to write an essay and give it to her. After 4 years of working together, I remember one day that she brought this essay to me and gave it to me to correct it. Together we laughed at my past mistakes and we were very amused with my progress. Without her that progress wouldn’t even be nearly as big as it was.
I would recommend to everyone that if you have the opportunity, you should go and learn German with her. Sanja, if you will ever teach another language, let me know and I will be happy to become your student again.”

” Learning German from scratch was a pretty complicated task. Sanja’s German lessons helped tremendously. The lessons were always well constructed and easy to follow. From the basics to the advanced grammatic and all the little details that you didn’t normally notice. Sanja was for me THE German teacher. She was always very patient and was ready to help when I didn’t get something. She was nice yet strict enough that after a year or so I was pretty much on the level that allowed me to study with my native German classmates. I could bring material to class that I didn’t understand and we’d go over it. I’m very grateful that I got her as my teacher. “

“For my job I needed to improve my German writing and speaking. Sanja helped me upgrade my basic understanding of the German language, focusing on grammar and extending my vocabulary. By following a weekly class, I quickly started noticing improvements and I’m motivated to get to C1 level. Sanja’s classes are interactive, tailored to your individual goals and most of all fun!”

Lea B. (student, 11)

“Sanja was my German language teacher in school. We were usually starting each lesson with funny German memes that our teacher would put on the door and in case we did not understand them, she would explain them to us. The learning was fun, and our teacher would usually try to explain new grammar and vocabulary in the easiest way possible and show us different ways of how we could learn and remember them better.
In summary, the best teacher we could ever wish for”

“I had a desire to speak German since I was a child, as my family was from Germany. My grandparents spoke German to each other, but didn’t teach their children (or grandchildren in my case) to speak German, as they thought it was important for them to learn English. So, a lifetime later, I finally decided to learn German. I took all 5 of the Pimsleur German courses. I learned a good amount of vocabulary and could make my way around Germany pretty well but I quickly realized that I really didn’t know German at all. So, I looked for a better way forward. I started to work with Sanja just over a year ago. For the past year, I can say that I am now really LEARNING German. It’s been the biggest challenge I’ve ever had and also some of the most FUN I’ve ever had. The way that Sanja teaches and her understanding of the language, both as a native speaker and as a master of linguistics, has been vital to my learning. She’s patient with my struggles and mistakes and celebrates all of my accomplishments big and small. Her lessons, games, homework and her way of explaining what I don’t understand are brilliant. I would highly recommend her video courses as well. They helped prepare me for understanding cases and adjective declension in fun, no-pressure environment. I anxiously look forward to every class. I feel that I’ve learned so much in this past year and can’t wait to see where the next year with Sanja takes me in my German learning journey.”

“I Have spent four months learning Deutsch as a second language from Sanja. I thought it would be terribly hard and intimidating as I’m in my mid forties and have never attempted to learn a second language. I Recently moved to Germany for a short period of time and badly wanted to learn the language and become an integrated member of society. The lessons turned out to be exactly what I wanted. Sanja made the learning easy to understand as a beginner who knew only a few words but with no understanding of German grammar.  I tried as much as I could to learn through a computer application. I was completely wrong thinking an application would teach me what I needed to learn. The lessons from Sanja made the learning fun and engaging. It was not intimidating, it was as if I was learning from a friendly acquaintance as opposed to an instructor/professor lecturing and assigning homework. Sanja was happy to stop and help me understand any subject I was misunderstanding. When we progressed to the next lesson I was always confident with what was taught in the previous lesson and eagerly ready to move forward. It was always exciting to start the next class and learn more. Even though my lessons have been cut short due to life changes, the experience has given me the desire to continue with the German language as soon as possible. Thank you always Sanja for giving me the patience and dedication I needed to gain the knowledge attained. It has been a memorable experience. ”

“I have been learning German with Sanja for the past few months and I have been enjoying every lesson so far. At first I was a bit hesitant in signing up because I thought that I will be getting myself into a lot of boring grammar and work. But I was so wrong! I wish I had signed up sooner! She is very knowledgeable and knows exactly how to recognize what I am struggling with and she manages to surprise me with her ability of explaining every time. Her classes are very engaging and fun, but also challenging. Looking forward to our next class already!”

Orka K. (student, 19)

“I have been learning German and having conversational classes with Sanja for about 10 years now and not one lesson has ever been boring. She finds ways to challenge me so that I progress very quickly, focusing equally on vocabulary and grammar, but always makes learning fun with various games, music, books or fun facts about different topics. She prepared me very well for real-life conversations and situations, so well that I have no problem communicating with native speakers.”

Agnes Bodi

“Sanja can keep me motivated even when it gets hard. She is kind, but effective. She always has ideas on how to make the classes more interesting. I can totally feel how our classes contribute to make my everyday life here in Vienna easier. I wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone willing to improve their German.”

Kushtrim Berisha

Asli Sahin (parent)

“My son is 7 years old and could not speak or read any German when he started lessons with teacher Sanja. Teacher Sanja caught his interest with her fun methods and learning German became interesting for my son! She is very good in communicating with kids and has great empathy for them which helps her to manage the lessons in the best way. She always finds a way to keep my son’s attention on the lesson. I am very happy with his progress and would recommend teacher Sanja without any hesitation.”

“Since I have some German roots and visit Germany every few years, I had a big desire to learn the language. I found Sanja’s website and immediately felt that she would be the perfect fit for what I was looking for. I was enjoying my weekly classes with her so much that they never felt like a chore or something like that. It felt like a fun hobby that I was looking forward to every week! Her classes were very interactive and enjoyable and I plan on continuing with the lessons as soon as I will be able to.”

Mirela Blazanovic (parent)

“An excellent teacher; explains very well and is always engaging. When it’s time to work, work is being done, but there’s also plenty of laughter and joy in the lessons. If you want to learn German and are ready to put in a the needed effort, then Sanja is the best choice.”

Julia K. (parent)

” We are very grateful for your help. Our daughter is complimented for her German by almost everyone. The language enabled her communication. School teacher has mentioned to us that she became much more active in lessons and she believes that is also due to her language confidence; Our daughter has a many friends now, and language has a role to play here too.

Thank you very much for your help. I believe we were very fortunate to find you :)”

Petra B. (student, 15)

“Sanja helped me a lot with understanding different verb tenses and all the declensions.
She always gives a lot of tips and additional advice when she teaches, which I really appreciate a lot!”

Giannina Erre

“Sanja’s lessons don’t resemble any other classes I have taken so far.
She is very creative and easy going and her lessons make me feel like I am having a cup of coffee with my best friend. Even though her lessons are fun and relaxed, I feel like I have learned so much and a lot of things I have struggled with prior to her lessons are now finally clear as a day! Thank you!”

Peter & Katy

De Shan Y. (student,16)

“My teacher Sanja helped me a lot in communicating with my classmates in German. I had no previous knowledge of the German language and now I am already at the level B2. It was a lot of hard work for me, but I would like to thank Sanja. She is very patient and her classes are always very interesting. She teaches in a way that I like very much. I especially like how she explains things that I don’t understand. She gives a lot of helpful examples to help me come to a conclusion on my own, which really helps me in understanding how things work.”
